DHASE is governed by a five-member Board of Directors who were responsible for the organizational strategy stewardship and policy development and guidance. The board is composed of professionals who have wealth of experience in the field of community development and climate change and environmental sustainability. In addition, at program level, DHASE is administered by the Executive Management comprised of the Executive Director, who oversees day to day management of the organization and reports to the Board of Directors. Other management team members include Programs Director. This management team is responsible for planning, design, implementation and accountability of DHASE program. There are other staff members who oversee implementation of the organization’s program/project activities The organization respects strict political and religious impartiality, adhering to international humanitarian principles and operates according to principles of non-discrimination and transparency.

Mr. Ramat R. Godana

Chair

Ramat is a results-driven Environmental and Climate Change professional with repeated success in offering sustainability consultancy services for major development projects for Government of Kenya, Private sectors, and International Organizations. He has handled projects from planning, design to finish, managing monitoring, technical support operations and advocating for new policies and technologies for sustainable development. Ramat has over 15 years’ experience at senior management level focusing on environment conservation, climate change and gender mainstreaming in development projects, policy change and approaches to solving properly diagnosed environmental issues that are translated into real practice in development processes and sustainability.

He holds MSc degree in Environmental Planning and Management degree from University of Nairobi (2006), He worked with the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) as District Environment Officer and later Provincial Director of Environment- Eastern Province, He is currently working at Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) as a Senior Environmental Expert and Head of Environmental safeguards and sustainability.

 

He represents energy sector in the republic of Kenya at Environment Technical Committee for Eastern African Power Pool (EAPP) and also a member of a Bilateral Technical Team for management of Omo River and Lake Turkana Basin.

Dr. Frida Nyiva

Member

Frida Nyiva Mutui is a PhD holder, UNEP-Tongji University, China, specializing in Environmental management for Sustainable Development, MA in Environmental Planning and Management (EPM), from the University of Nairobi. She is a trained teacher from the Catholic university of Eastern Africa and also trained as a Strategic Environmental Assessment Expert, from the university of Gothenburg/Chalmers University, Sweden. Dr. Frida is also a Global Environmental Leader which has equipped her with knowledge and skills about the environmental issues globally. She has also participated in an Exceed Summer School, for New Alternative Sanitation Systems, (NASS) in Germany. All these have been achieved through many research grants awarded by United Nations Agencies, Exceed, DAAD, NIRAS and SIDA amongst others.

She is registered as a Lead Expert with National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA), Reg. No. 1494, as a Lead Expert in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Audit (EA). She is currently a Director and founder of Amandla Energy Limited.

Rev. Fr. Cristian Pista

Fr.  Chris is a Catholic Priest working in The Catholic Diocese of Marsabit and currently the Parish Priest of Catholic Church at Turbi Parish. He has been a Parish priest for 4 years at Turbi Parish. Supporting the local communities in pastoral care and development and humanitarian Programmes. Fr. Chris brings on board the wealth of experience of the Pastoral Care Program where as a local parish priest he has variety of roles in the pastoral care of his people. The Parish Pastoral Care Program can call on these specialist services as required. He has initiated several humanitarian supports for the local communities such as environmental conservation at Turbi parish for construction of model farm for pastoralist communities to learn diversification of their livelihood to combat climate change.

Miss Regina Kame

Treasurer

Kame holds a Bachelor of Education Degree-Primary option (2009) from Kenya Methodist University.

Further, she has Diploma in Education Management from Kenya Education Management Institute (2016) and a P1 certificate from Meru Teachers College (2001). 

She is currently a Headteacher at Carverella Primary school in Turbi Sub County within Marsabit County. She has served in the teaching service for 20 years, nine (9) of which is in a management position -as Deputy Headteacher and a Headteacher. She served the profession with outstanding performance in academic and moral up-bringing of Pupils entrusted under her care.  

She also served for six years as a teacher’s coach with “Wasichina Wote Wasome” Initiative under the Education Development Trust Program.

 She Possess a good knowledge of Financial, Human resources and Assets Management.
